Muffins are delicious breakfast food, but sometimes you might have one leftover from the previous day. Can you reheat muffins in a toaster oven?

As a general rule, you can reheat muffins in a toaster oven. Set the toaster oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and place the muffin on the wire rack. Heat for about five minutes or until warmed throughout. If you want a crispy top, you can leave the muffin in for an extra minute or so.

I always make a big batch of muffins for breakfast and have a lot of leftovers. Knowing how to properly reheat muffins in a toaster oven helps save so much time if done right! Read on for tips and tricks for the perfect reheated muffin.

How to Properly Reheat Muffins in a Toaster Oven?

To properly reheat muffins in a toaster oven, first, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, place the muffin on the wire rack. Make sure the muffins are at the center of the oven for even reheating. Heat for about five minutes or until warmed throughout.

Make sure the toaster oven is set on the BAKE setting, not the TOAST setting. If you want to make the muffins moist, you can sprinkle some milk or water on top of them before reheating. This reintroduces moisture back into the muffin

During my search for the perfect muffin/cupcake, I came across a Great Nonstick 12-Cup Muffin Pan that will make my muffins/cupcakes the perfect size. Ever since I got it, my muffins came out looking better than ever before! You can find this Muffin Tin on Amazon!

If you want a crispy top, you can leave the muffin in for an extra minute or so. Just be careful not to overcook or burn the muffins. When they’re done, take them out and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

What to expect? First, reheating muffins in a toaster oven for more than 5 minutes will make them more crispy on the outside. If you like your muffins soft and fluffy, then stick to reheating for a smaller period of time, 3-5 minutes.

Second, reheating muffins in a toaster oven can make them drier. To avoid this, you can sprinkle a little bit of water or milk on top of the muffin before reheating (don’t saturate).

To reheat the perfect muffin in a toaster oven correctly, you will have to understand exactly how many muffins fit in a toaster over as well as how long to reheat these muffins.

How Long To Reheat Muffins In A Toaster Oven?

Muffins are best reheated in a toaster oven for about five minutes. However, if the muffins are frozen, they might need to be in the oven for a few minutes longer. Be sure to keep an eye on them so they don’t overcook or burn. If frozen, cover the top loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning.

Make sure to preheat your toaster oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Once preheated, place the muffin onto the center of the baking rack and heat for 5 minutes.

If you want your muffin to be warmer, place a loose piece of aluminum foil over the top to prevent it from burning and continue heating until the desired temperature is reached.

If you are reheating a frozen muffin, allow thawing for about an hour. Place the muffin into the preheated oven after slight thawing. If thawed all the way, it’ll be too wet and will become very soggy.

This builds up steam in the toaster oven which is reintroduced into your muffin.

Loosely drape a piece of aluminum foil on top to prevent burning and reheat for 7-10 minutes or until ready. If you are warming up multiple frozen muffins, you may want to crank the temperature slightly up to 350 degrees to accommodate. Just make sure to keep an eye on them so that they do not burn.

How Many Muffins Fit Inside A Toaster Oven?

As a whole, you can fit up to 6 muffins in a toaster oven depending on the size and model. For a small toaster oven, I can usually fit 3-4 muffins inside. However, if you have a larger one, you might be able to fit 5 or more muffins. You can maximize space by placing muffins directly on the rack.

It all depends on how big or small your toaster oven is and how many muffins you want to reheat at one time. Muffins are usually larger in size so many toaster ovens fit about 2-3 easily.

Just be sure not to overcrowd the oven so that the muffins can reheat evenly.

When I bake muffins in the air fryer I have to use these Silicone Muffin Liners which are super easy to clean and use! They make it very easy to remove the muffins out of the muffin pan without getting stuck. Check out the link on Amazon!

Skip using a baking sheet and place the muffins directly onto the rack. This will maximize the surface area where you can place the muffins. Try not to overcrowd them because it’ll start to steam up which will cause soggy muffins.

This goes for both large and small muffins. The larger ones, like those from bakeries and coffee shops, may struggle to fit in toaster ovens. Homemade ones are generally smaller so you can fit more in the toaster oven.

If you are warming up more than half a dozen muffins, I would recommend reheating them in a regular muffin to maximize space.

How To Reheat Frozen Muffins In A Toaster Oven?

Generally speaking, remove the muffins from your freezer and unwrap them very carefully. Let them thaw at room temperature for about an hour. Once they’re somewhat thawed, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and place the muffins on the wire rack. Heat until warmed throughout.

You might need to heat frozen muffins for a few minutes longer than fresh ones. Just be sure to keep an eye on them so they don’t overcook or burn.

Make sure to not thaw the muffins for more than an hour. They will become very wet and will steam inside the toaster oven. Thaw them just for the hour at room temperature and then place them into your preheated toaster oven.

Expect the muffins to come out crispier on the outside when reheating them in a toaster oven. If you want to prevent that or just prevent burning, loosely wrap the top of the muffin with aluminum foil.
